Navigate With Ease:
The Nuvi 205W comes preloaded with the latest Garmap Southern Africa Streetmaps map data. Simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, and the Nuvi takes you there with turn-by-turn voice directions, 2D or 3D maps and smooth map updates as you navigate. Digital elevation shows shaded contours for an understanding of the surrounding terrain. In addition, the Nuvi 205W accepts custom points of interest (POI’s), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POI’s [Safety Camera information is available for download from the Garmap website at www.garmap.co.za]. With HotFix satellite prediction, the Nuvi 205W calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.
Enhanced navigation:
The Nuvi 205W comes with photo navigation to revolutionise your sightseeing. Plan trips to landmarks and attractions simply and easily before you set off. Choose and save location-tagged photographs from millions of Google Panoramio pictures in a wish-list of places to visit. Then, at your leisure, select a photo destination on your Garmin for turn-by-turn directions straight to the scene.
Other built-in travel tools include a JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, a currency and measurement converter, calculator and more.
Customise:
Personalise your Nuvi 205W with your choice of background photograph. To customise your screen further, select a new vehicle icon from the Garmin Garage. With a wide range of wheels including off-road vehicles, motorbikes and classic cars, you can now tailor your Garmin to suit your style.
Enhance your travel experience with optional plug-in SD cards such as Garmin Travel and Language Guides.

[Please note: These units come with the latest Garmap Southern Africa Streetmaps detailed map software pre-loaded onto an SD/MicroSD memory card ONLY. There is no CD or DVD in the box!
(If you would like to load the maps to a PC as well as to the unit itself, you will have to purchase the Garmap Africa Series DVD and download the Southern Africa Streetmaps maps from the DVD to your PC).
This is a true Plug-and-Play solution for those who simply want to take the unit out of the box, insert the SD card and start navigating straight away without having to go through the whole loading of the maps to a PC, online registration and unlocking process of the CD map version.
Apart from the ease of using a Plug-and-Play system like this, the pre-loaded SD memory card can be inserted in any of the other Plug-and-Play GPS systems and the maps will work. The maps are unlocked to the SD card itself, unlike the CD map versions which are registered and unlocked to a specific GPS unit and can only be used on that unit.]
